My family is visiting us this week – to check if we’re still alive, :p. When they heard about how much we’ve been missing the traditional Taiwanese dumplings, right away we decided to make them ourselves – from scratch!
It might sound like a piece of cake, but we not only mixed the filling ourselves but also the wrappers! We ended up spending the whole afternoon making almost 200 of them. Now we always got something quick to cook in the freezer whenever we are in a rush.
We added purple sweet potato puree and spinach juice to make purple and green wrappers. The filling is a “secret” family recipe from my mother-in-law; ground pork, cabbage, sweet corn, mushrooms, chives, green onions, cilantro. Well I guess it’s not really a secret but it truly is my absolute favourite dumpling recipe!
